HIV will increase in the blood from zero when first infected to many millions of copies of virus very quickly

    .
    .

I am happy with a third generation antibody HIV test at 6 weeks or more where the accuracy will be greater than 99%

    .
    .

If there are no antibodies, the antigen will always be detectable and would continue increasing as the virus continues replicating. As the antibodies are produced, the antigen will gradually become undetectable, but is can be detected up to 6 months after the initial infection.

    .
    .

initial infection with HIV causes an exponential and enormous rise in the HIV viral load. I recently had a patient who at 19 days post initial infection had RNA PCR of greater than 10,000,000 copies - your negative RNA is intensely reassuring

    2. Would hiv 2 be tested in this 7 weeks combo test that I did, or is there a need to test at 3 months?

HIV 2 is tested within this and you do not need to test again

    .
    .

    1) I realise that you advocate the DUO test at 28 days but could my ongoing anxiety have weakened my immune system to a point that the antibodies were not made by 31 days and therefore not detectable by the DUO test.?

No, this will not have happened

    .
    .

Could it have suppressed the p24 antigen by then, but not have antibodies, again?

no, this will not have happened

    .
    .

    2) If I showed symptoms at 25 days, would the virus definitely be detected by the Duo test at 31 days, there surely had to be enough P24 in my system or antibodies if I had gone through ARS?

the chance of the virus being correctly identified if present would be greater than 99.89 % at that point

    .
    .

it really doesn't matter. A 4th generation test is a combination of p24 antigen and also IgG and IgM antibody tests - the p24 element is most useful in the initial stages when p24 is at it's peak so by using an HIV DUO at any time beyond the 28 days then you will end up with an appropriate test.
